Inch Levels

Inch Levels is one of Ireland’s most significant wildfowl areas. The Inch Levels Wildfowl reserve has been in development in partnership with National Parks and Wildlife Service for over 10 years. Donegal County Council has been working in partnership with NPWS and local stakeholders throughout this time on developing the site as a must-see tourism atttaction. Currently the site has 8km of Walking/Cycling trails, a number of bird viewing hides, and car parking facilities.

Donegal County Council is currently leading out on the development of further trails, a timber board walk, and fully integrated interpretative project and a marketing campaign to raise the profile of the site, in conjunction with National Parks and Wildlife Service. This project is part of the Inch Levels-Lough Foyle project, led by North West Regional Cross Border Group in partnership with Donegal County Council and Limavady Borough Council, funded under the EU’s INTERREG IVA Programme. A total investment of €839,880 is being made in this project.
