N56 Kilkenny to Letterilly
Construction of this third phase of the major N56 Dungloe to Glenties project was substantially completed in December 2019.
N56 Drumbeigh to Inver
This second phase of the N56 Mouncharles to Inver project is an important improvement to the south of the county. It will provide improved access to Killybegs Harbour, to CLAR region and Gaeltacht Area as well as the Sliabh Liag and the wider Wild Atlantic Way. Construction commenced in August 2019 by Wills Bros., Ltd with a construction period of 18 months.
Safety Projects
The Donegal NRO Safety Section has progressed 8 High Collision Sites in Donegal this year with €1.35m expended on safety scheme works.
A key project is the N56 Four Lane Road, Letterkenny. This safety and pavement scheme is also a significant element in future Letterkenny traffic management plans. The project is programmed to go to construction in 2020.
