Local Improvement Schemes
Since 2017 the Department of Rural and Community Development have provided funding for the repair of certain non-public roads under their Local Improvement Scheme programme. In 2019 funding of €677,456 allowed for the construction of 34 Local Improvement Schemes across the county.
Other Services
In addition to the above the Roads Areas Division also provides maintenance services to some historic graveyards that are in the charge of the Council and a sum of €40,000 is made available for this each year. A school warden service is also provided at a small number of locations at a cost of approximately €80,000 annually.
