Tenants are responsible for general maintenance and certain repair works, while the Council is generally responsible for structural repairs that affect the integrity of the house.

Please note that, when deciding on the order of priority for carrying out repairs and maintenance, the Council will take account of the tenant’s rent history. Therefore, it is in your own interests to keep a good rent payment record.
