Archives Service
The Archives and Museum coordinated a special Council event for the Centenary of the First Dáil, held at County House, and produced an exhibition and booklet entitled: Donegal, the 1918 General Election and the First Dáil.
The Archives Service with the Local Government Archivists and Records Managers group (LGARM) produced and toured a major exhibition to celebrate 120 years of democratic local government in Ireland: Celebrating the History of Irish Local Government.
The Archives Service was 20 years old in 2019. Many outreach activities including talks, displays and workshops took place, plus an online exhibition showcasing the Archives over 20 years. Festivals involved included Bealtaine, Heritage Week and Donegal Connect. The Joseph Murray collection was uploaded on the website. Archives acquired in 2019 included Letterkenny Golf Club Archive.
The Echoes of the Decade Peace IV funded project on the legacy of the Decade of Centenaries in Donegal was launched in 2019.
County Donegal Heritage Office
The Heritage Officer Programme celebrated its 20th anniversary with a reception in Áras an Uachtaráin in September. The Heritage Officer coordinated two public information events for the preparation of the new National Heritage Plan (Heritage Ireland 2030) and was invited to give a presentation in Dublin Castle.
