Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP)
Donegal LCDC continues to manage and oversee the implementation of the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP). 2019 was the second year of
the five year SICAP programme running from 2018-2022, which has a budget of €2,008,917 per year across the lifetime
of the programme. Two Local Community Development Companies deliver the SICAP Programme on behalf of the Donegal LCDC across the three Lots in Co Donegal as follows:-
Healthy Ireland Fund Round 3
The Donegal LCDC Programme of Work under Round 3 of Healthy Ireland was approved
by Pobal in June 2019. The Programme of Work is a joint application between Donegal LCDC and Donegal Children and Young People Service Committee (CYPSC).
The Programme is made up of ten Actions, five from the LCDC and five from CYPSC. There are an additional two Community Mental Health Fund Actions and a Community Mental Health Fund (CMFH) Small Grants Scheme. A provision is
also made to allow the Healthy Ireland Co-ordinator to undertake a community engagement initiative to promote the work of Healthy Ireland locally. The funding supports local and national organisations
to deliver actions that will improve health and wellbeing in line with Healthy Ireland, A Framework for Improved Health and Wellbeing 2013-2025. The grant period for Round 3 will run from 1st July 2019 to 30th June 2021.
PEACE IV Programme
The €5.5million PEACE IV Action Plan for Donegal is well under way and continues
to support a range of interventions to include Community Leadership, Restorative Practices, Minority Sports, Marginalised Youth, Empathy and Good Relations which will help bring about positive and significant change. In Donegal eight grant assisted projects are being supported and thirty-two interventions are being delivered across three themes with allocation breakdowns as follows:
:: €1.2m allocated to Children and Young People;
:: €2m has been allocated to the theme of Shared Spaces and Services;
:: €2.4m has been allocated to building positive relations at local level.

 Community Enhancement Programme 2019 & Men’s and Women’s Shed Programme 2019
The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP), funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, which provides grant funding towards enhancing the facilities available to communities ran
for a second year in 2019. Donegal LCDC administers the Programme on behalf of
the Department and in 2019 total funding
of €188,257 was allocated to the LCDC for awarding as small or large grants. A total
of €28,796 of this fund was ring fenced for Men’s and Women’s Sheds in the County with the balance of monies being divided equally across the Municipal Districts. Grants
under this Programme were awarded to 94 Community/Voluntary Groups and 26 Men’s and Women’s Sheds throughout the County.
