Donegal County Council posted 1,694 tweets in 2019 and the number of Twitter followers increased by 987 to 9287 on its @DonegalCouncil account. There were 2,450,000 Twitter impressions representing an increase of 20% on the 2018 figure and 32,416 profile visits.

The number of users for 2019 was 266,831. The number of sessions increased from 459,343 in 2018 to 567,191 and the number of page views continued to grow to 1,434,930.
Media relations
The Communications Office continues to work closely with local print, broadcast and online media in conveying important messages from the Council to the general public.
327 press releases and news alerts were issued and approximately 540 queries from local and national media outlets were dealt with. The office managed a number of packages with local media outlets for use by various Council services.
