Donegal County Council and Buncrana Community Leisure Centre Committee (BCLCC) have had a series of meetings in recent months.
The following areas have been progressed:
- Clarifications on the proposed business plan, submitted by BCLCC
- Options for the management model for the Leisure Centre
- The most cost-effective options for a new facility
- Match-funding requirements for the project
Grant funding from central government is available to part fund the proposed project, with co-funding required to be made available locally. No funding allocation has been made in the Council’s budget for 2019, on the basis that, should the project progress in 2019, initial costs will be covered from the grant funding available.
Donegal County Council will continue to meet regularly with Buncrana Community Leisure Centre Committee over the coming months, with a view to progressing this project.
