Introduction

The Letterkenny Southern Network Project aims to develop the transport network around the South of Letterkenny town, this strategic piece of infrastructure aims to provide connectivity from Letterkenny to West Donegal, improve traffic congestion, support compact growth, and encourage modal shift.

In line with the Department of Public Expenditure, Public Spending Code (2019) requirements Donegal County Council (DCC) submitted a Strategic Assessment Report to the Department of Transport (DoT) to demonstrate why an intervention is necessary in the area South of Letterkenny town.
