Donegal County Council would like to bring to your attention some important information – details as follows:
If you have temporary protection in Ireland, your current permission is valid until 4th March 2025.
If you wish to avail of permission up to 4th March 2026 you must renew your permission.
It is vital that you complete your application as soon as possible, to ensure that you have a valid Temporary Protection permission.

Registration renewal – Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection - Immigration Service Delivery
Information:
- BOTPs must apply for renewal of temporary protection – it will not be automatic.
- The application will be through the Irish Immigration Service Online website ISD Online Forms where the BOTP must register and create an account.
- Each BOTP needs to apply separately, parents/guardians can apply on behalf of a child.
- Documentary evidence of existing temporary protection, identity and that the applicant is currently residing in Ireland will be required (this can be obtained by contacting the Offer A Home Team at offerahome@donegalcoco.ie).
- Existing permission remains valid while going through the application process, so permission to work or receive payments is not affected.
- When you have reapplied for your temporary protection and received confirmation of same, please arrange to submit a copy to the OAH office at the email address: offerahome@donegalcoco.ie
- Accommodation in an Offer a Home Property is allocated to those with temporary protection.
Pledge of Property Donegal County Council is urging people to consider offering a home to those displaced by the war in Ukraine. For anyone who has a house, apartment or holiday home, the process of Offering a Home has never been easier. A tax-free recognition payment of €800 per month is available to those offering accommodation. Utility bills including, electricity, heating, rubbish collection, internet usage and food will be paid by the occupant. The accommodation must be provided for at least 6 months at the required standards. Our Ukrainian Refugee Response Team provides an inclusive approach to individuals pledging their property and will ensure the process is skilfully managed. This includes property inspections and relationship management. Donegal County Council’s experienced Ukrainian Refugee Response Team is dedicated to making the process of matching, meeting and placing as smooth as possible for the homeowner and individual. What to do if you wish to register as a Refugee on the OAH Programme
Donegal County Council will seek to match you to a suitable property and make an offer. If you decide not to accept the offer, it is not possible to offer you another home as there are too many families to accommodate. In the event of a refusal, you will be formerly discharged from the System as per the National Refusal Policy.
You are not required to pay rent however you must pay the utility bills. Utility bills include, electricity, heating, rubbish collection, internet usage and food.
