Rural Regeneration & Development Projects

As part of Project Ireland 2040 the government has committed to providing an additional €1 billion over the period 2019 to 2027 for the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF). The RRDF aims to support job creation in rural areas, address de-population of rural communities and support improvements in our towns and villages with a population of less than 10,000 and outlying areas, and is a major part of ‘Our Rural Future’, the Irish Governments policy for post-covid-19 recovery and development of rural Ireland.

The Regeneration and Development Team to date have secured circa €33.1m of RRDF Funding to develop and construct various projects in Arranmore Island, Burtonport Harbour (Phase 1 & 2), Killybegs, Ramelton (Phase 1 & 2), Ballyshannon, Ballybofey, Carndonagh and Buncrana.
