Donegal County Council delivers a number of schemes supporting the development of the tourism sector in Donegal.

Donegal County Council is delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 Fáilte Ireland’s Festival and Events Funding Programme, designed to support festivals and participative events that contribute to the county’s vibrant tourism offering and enrich the visitor experience.
This funding initiative aims to celebrate Donegal’s rich cultural heritage, foster community engagement, and attract both local and international visitors to our towns and villages.
The supported events must help to drive domestic and international tourism arrivals to Donegal, win bed nights, stimulate local economic activity, and help to improve the visitor experience in the county.
The application period will close at 5pm on Tuesday 11th March 2025.

Donegal County Council is inviting community groups to apply for funding under the Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme 2025. This scheme will fund works that will enhance tourism product offering in various locations in the county including for example signage, improved access to popular visitor sites and attractions such as waterfalls, heritage sites, historic graveyards*, scenic spots, picnic areas, beaches etc.
The application period will close at 5pm on Thursday 3rd April 2025.
