Frequently Asked Questions
My neighbour has an oil tank adjacent my property, I am concerned there is a fire risk to my property, what are the requirements?
Section 5.2.6 and Table 11 of Technical Guidance Document J sets out the recommendations on location of oil storage tanks. An oil tank should be located on a non-combustible base. Additional requirements are necessary for separation distances less than the above and they can be found in Section 5.2.6 and Table 11 of Part J of the Building Regulations on the following link: https://www.gov.ie/pdf/?file=https://assets.gov.ie/100335/e8bfd6c6-9fdc-4c39-8b19-d994e22c3b6f.pdf#page=null
