Leisure Centres
In 2019 building services refurbishment works and an upgrade of changing facilities was completed in Ballyshannon Leisure Centre. Throughout 2019 officials from the Council worked closely with Buncrana Leisure Centre Co-operative Committee to prepare a project brief for the design of a leisure centre to replace the existing facility in the town. Tenders were invited in late 2019 for an Architect led design team and a Quantity Surveyor -Project Management team.
Climate Change Adaptation Strategy
Donegal County Council adopted its Climate Change Adaptation Strategy 2019 to 2024 in September 2019. This strategy sets out over 100 actions that will be taken over the period
to ensure that Donegal is climate ready. The actions are divided into five operation themes, Governance, Critical Infrastructure and Building, Natural and Cultural Capital, Water Resources and Flood Management and Community Services. A Climate Adaptation Steering group will monitor the implementation of the strategy and will prepare annual reports on progress.
