The Riverine Environmental Project is holding a taster event and residents from Lifford and Strabane are invited to take part in a variety of environmental initiatives. The exciting new Derry City and Strabane District project, which are working with Donegal County Council is focusing on cross-community and cross-border relations in the Strabane, Lifford and surrounding areas.
All are welcome to drop-in to The Alley Theatre, Strabane any time from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on the 26th February 2020.
Topics such as learning to read the landscape, why do field names matter, river wildlife, butterfly conservation and upland ecology will be covered throughout the year. By taking part in the heritage sessions you can gain a LANTRA qualification.
Also available are opportunities to get active by joining a practical action group who will be carrying out conservation projects along the rivers and wider countryside. Opportunities to get active include hiking for 40+'s, mountain biking for teens and clubs for younger kids that will get them active in the outdoors through survival and outdoor pursuits. Families can even join up together for amazing experiences such as family kayaking challenges.
