22/02/2017 - Steer your business in the right direction with Enterprise Week

Steer your business in the right direction with Enterprise Week

Businesses in Donegal will get the chance to steer their enterprises in exciting new directions by taking note of fantastic free advice on offer during this year's Enterprise Week from 5th to 10th March.

The week-long programme put together by staff at Donegal Local Enterprise Office in conjunction with partner agencies and private sector businesses, includes talks, workshops and seminars on a huge array of important business topics.

Before proceedings get under way in Donegal on Monday 6th March, the business community in the county will be collectively holding its breath in hope and expectation for Gillian Doyle of Cerebreon Technologies who represents Donegal in the National final of Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur.

Gillian is a client of the LEO since completing a Start Your own Business Programme last year and has developed her business idea in conjunction with the support of the staff and the programmes she has participated in.

That final will take place in Dublin on March 5th, but events in Donegal kick off in dramatic fashion on Monday 6th March when inspirational international speaker Nigel Risner takes to the floor in the Balor Theatre, Ballybofey. The proud owner of a plethora of major speaking awards, including Speaker of the Year titles, Nigel Risner comes highly recommended by last year's keynote speaker Geoff Ramm who went down such a storm in Donegal that he was asked to come back again in November! "The one thing I've loved about my two recent visits to Donegal is the passion, belief and focus of its entrepreneurs. Which is why I am delighted that for 2017 they have booked one of the most inspirational, honest and challenging speakers I've ever known and worked with. There are only a handful of speakers I'd ever pay to go and see and Nigel Risner is one of them. He is the World's best at communication and boy oh boy he will challenge everyone to have a greater impact in their lives and in their businesses. To all of the business owners and entrepreneurs in Donegal, I urge you to attend."

Nigel Risner isn't the only major international speaker on the week's line-up and Wednesday afternoon will see world-renowned David Parrish on his feet in the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.

The author of 'T-shirts and Suits – A guide to the business of creativity' and 'Chase One Rabbit – Strategic Marketing for Business Success," David Parrish will engage his audience with a thought-provoking presentation to re-focus their energy on making their business make money.

Google will also visit the county with a keynote from Aiden Blake to help businesses increase their presence online, while food events,

creative events, finance, women in business and start-ups all feature as well in a packed programme.

Indeed there are over twenty events to choose from at locations right around the county and all are free to attend. Below is the week's events schedule at a glance and a full copy of the brochure can be downloaded here
