Exceptional Needs Payment

Those affected by the floods may be entitled to assistance in the form of an Exceptional Needs Payment, which is administered by the Department of Social Protection.

This is a single payment to help meet essential, once-off, exceptional expenditure, which a person could not reasonably be expected to meet out of their weekly income.

For more information contact the Departments Buncrana Office by calling 074 9320070.

Donegal County Council is asking all road users to exercise due care and attention when travelling on roads particularly in the North Donegal area due to the scale of damage from the floods last night.  We are continuing to assess the damage caused in the areas affected by the flooding.

Members of the public can contact the Council outside of normal business hours by calling 074 91 72288 or during business hours by calling 074 91 53900.
