Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 and Environmental Report

Consultation period extended to 4pm of Friday 1st September 2017

Donegal County Council has prepared a Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 and Environmental Report and now invites submissions/observations in relation to it during the period of Friday 19^th May 2017 to an extended closing date of 4pm on Friday 1^st September 2017.

NOTE: The extension of the closing date for receipt of submissions arises as a result of (i) a misprint of the dedicated email address on the Council’s website and (ii) in order to provide extra time for the making of submissions during the summer period. If a submission was made by email before 13^th July 2017 and you did not receive an acknowledgement email by return, you are advised to resubmit to donegalcdp@donegalcoco.ie

The purpose of the Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 and Environmental Report is to set out a land use planning policy framework to guide the way in which County Donegal will be developed into the future and, when adopted, will be a material consideration in making decisions on planning applications. It is the first consolidated Plan for the entire functional area of Donegal County Council, including the former Town Council areas of Letterkenny, Buncrana and Bundoran.

The Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018- 2024 and Environmental Report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2017 and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) (Amendment) Regulations 2011.

Drop-in consultation events have been organised at which the Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 and Environmental Report can be viewed and staff will be available to address queries. The times and venues are as follows:

Submissions or observations with respect to the Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018- 2024 and Environmental Report may be made between Friday 19^th May 2017 to an extended closing date of 4pm on Friday 1^st September 2017 (both dates inclusive) and will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.  Submissions are to be made in one of two ways, either;

• By post to the Planning Authority at: The Central Planning Unit, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford,  or

• By email to donegalcdp@donegalcoco.ie

If a submission was made by email before 13^th July 2017 and you did not receive an acknowledgement email by return, you are advised to resubmit to donegalcdp@donegalcoco.ie

Submissions made via email must include the full name and address of the person making the submission. 

Note: Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. hard copy or email.   

The final date for the receipt of submissions is extended to 4pm on Friday 1^st September2017.
