 €2 million investment scheme for Built Heritage announced for 2018

 

On the 28th November, 2017 The former Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Ms Heather Humphreys, TD, announced a that the €2 million investment scheme which was introduced in 2017 would continue in 2018.  The Built Heritage Investment scheme (BHIS) seeks to encourage the leveraging of private capital to invest in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craft workers and tradespeople.

 

The scheme will once again be administered by the local authorities in 2018.  Project supports will range from a minimum of €2,500 to a maximum of €15,000 per application.

 

A baseline amount of €50,000 has been allocated to Donegal County Council for 2018

 

To be considered for grant aid, applications should be submitted to Donegal County Council before 4.30pm on Friday, 26th January 2018.
