LEADER (Liaisons Entre Actions de Development L’Economie Rural) is a European Union funded initiative to find innovative solutions to rural problems. Under the Rural Development Programme, some of this funding may be used for conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage, village and countryside renewal and development, encouragement of tourism activities, and heritage training and information.
