COVID 19 EMERGENCY FUND – ADDITIONAL FUNDING

 

Minister Heather Humphreys, Department of Rural and Community Development, recently announced additional funding of €1.7m nationally under the COVID 19 Emergency Fund . Donegal LCDC have been allocated €68,130 for award to Community and Voluntary groups. 

 

Donegal County Council are inviting applications for the Programme which provides funding to support community and voluntary groups to deal with COVID 19.  The Programme will provide small-scale grants (up to €1,000) and large scale grants for community groups.  A minimum of 30% of the grants awarded will be small grants.

 

Applications for funding from groups for the following purposes:-

 

  1.  To assist groups to adapt their services and operations to fit the new COVID-19 reality. Examples of measures supported could be adapting premises to allow for social distancing; offering on-line activities; providing social supports and friendly calls by phone etc.
  2.  To help animate community groups to enable them to become more involved in the Government's 'Keep Well' campaign. It will seek to assist their participation in the campaign, in particular with the three themes: staying connected, switching off and being creative, and minding your mood. 

 

Rules

 

Groups must apply for funding to the Local Authority in which they are based, and applicants in Donegal can use the application form provided at the link below.

 

Match-funding from other sources is not required in order to be approved for a grant.

Applicant groups must provide the following when submitting their application for funding:

 

  • Tax Registration (Charitable Status No, Tax Reference No or Tax Clearance Access No)
  • Bank or Credit Union Account Details (copy of recent Statement)

 

 

Closing date

 

Completed applications had to be lodged not later than 3 p.m. Friday, 19th February 2021.

How to apply

 

Groups must submit completed   to Donegal County Council on or before closing date.  Emailed applications and supporting documentation will be accepted but must be followed up by submission of signed, hard copy of the application form and supporting documentation in the post.
